I am locked out of an account. What should I do first?

Start with the provider’s official account-recovery page from a trusted device. Confirm Caps Lock and keyboard layout, then check whether the username is the email address or a separate login. Do not keep retrying if the account warns about lockout. If recovery fails, open an Access & Identity request and include the service name and error message, but never your password or security code.
